February Means Happy Birthday Otesha!

And this year, we’re celebrating BIG! This February, The Otesha Project turns 5!

At this important milestone we reflect on the incredible accomplishments of Otesha to date – from humble beginnings under a tree in Kenya, to the 60,000 Canadians reached through 12,000 presentations, 100 bike tour members trained to be sustainability advocates, the publication of Otesha’s first book in both French and English, and the Hopeful High School Hooligan program that is sweeping across Ontario.

Otesha’s message of ‘being the change’ has inspired thousands of Canadians to take sustainable actions everyday!

This month has been full of new experiences for us. From a birthday potluck at the Otesha house to our first fundraising event in Toronto, to e-letters being sent to Otesha contacts requesting support (which some of you might have already received). We have been busy celebrating the past, and securing our future.

And the celebrations continue! For it’s birthday, Otesha is wishing for organizational sustainability – a gift that will allow the organization to survive, thrive and grow, and inspire many more people. As we look forward, and plan for five more years of world changing, we seek to diversify our funding, and seek out financial support from those who believe in our programs.

Join us in celebrating five-years of world-changing, and in looking forward to a sustainable future – for the planet, and Otesha!
